CUNY students block the highway in the name of public education

Thursday, May 31 marked the first official student walk-out in New York City as 300 Queens College students walked out in protest of tuition hikes and a crumbling academic infrastructure. Calling on CUNY's history as a beacon of public education, student demands came in the form of an open letter to the establishment, speaking directly to issues such as accessibility, social justice and accountability.
