If you wish to propose a book to Verso, please ensure that your proposal includes some or preferably all of the following:
  • a short overview of the book's main theme(s)
  • a list of contents and/or a short paragraph on each chapter/section
  • some background on author and/or contributors
  • some information about what you perceive as the main markets for the book
  • information about any competing titles (already published or forthcoming) of which you're aware
  • your intended writing timetable

Please limit your proposal to ten pages – and please do not send complete manuscripts.

Note that because of the volume of proposals we receive we cannot individually acknowledge them. If we like the sound of a proposal, we will contact you to request sample sections or a complete manuscript (if written). Response time for submissions is three to six months. Please do not inquire about your submission before three months have passed.
