This week, Verso is taking part in Independent Bookshop Week, which runs from 20th to 27th June 2015 – a campaign that seeks to celebrate independent bookshops in the UK and Ireland. We have teamed up with five of our favourite independent, radical bookshops from around the country, and we will be profiling them here on our blog each day this week. Our final profile for IBW 2015 is Bookmarks, a brilliant radical bookshop based in central London, which Tony Benn proclaimed to be "the University for activists"! Read about them here.
On Saturday 27th June is the Independent Bookshop Crawl, where thousands of people will be walking to their favourite bookshops and spending their hard earned money. If you visit any one of the shops we're profiling this week (News From Nowhere, Housmans, Five Leaves, Bookmarks, Word Power) you could pick up a FREE new Verso tote bag filled with three of our bestselling titles! All you will have to do is go into one of the shops profiled here on the blog on Saturday and say the magic word: 'Verso' The give–away will last for as long as stocks do, and will be limited to one per person.
